Professional coaching Explores Possibilities for developing your professional self and enables you to increase your effectiveness as you identify your core beliefs about self, evaluate which beliefs facilitate and hinder your ability to change, identify your core values, and learn to construe change as more of a challenge to embrace and less as a threat to avoid. Importantly, identifying and managing your self theories allows you to experience less stress and anxiety as your self-worth is no longer at risk when you try something new. The Exploring Possibilities programme will increase your confidence that you can learn, adapt and enjoy more of life's opportunities.
During the professional coaching sessions you will gain;
- Deeper knowledge of how beliefs about what it is ‘good to do and be’ create our values and influence or motivate our actions towards either a growth or a validation seeking goal.
- A clearer understanding of how self theories influence both your personal and professional life in terms of the impact on your ability to take risks, cope with uncertainty, make mistakes and move on after a setback.
- Increased awareness of the beliefs about self that are helpful to ‘maintain’ in order to preserve a sense of self through time, that is beliefs that offer predictability and beliefs that you could ‘explore and elaborate’ to create more possibilities for self, that is beliefs which allow you to be adaptable.
- Knowledge of how to implement the Possibilities Cycle to elaborate beliefs and feelings during the sessions and the skill to do this independently in the future, which will enable you to manage your emotions and enjoy more of the challenges that arise.
- A clear understanding of your beliefs about success and failure which allows you to evaluate their current helpfulness and to elaborate beliefs where appropriate to enable you to achieve more of our goals.
- Increased awareness of how different self theories influence people's ability to learn and change and how that impacts in the workplace in terms of their ability to work in a challenging environment, participate in teams or work alone.
- In depth knowledge of self theories will give you insight that helps you to manage relationships and to communicate clearly with colleagues and subordinates who have different beliefs and values systems.
- Understanding self theories will enable you to look for people who have a ‘can do’ attitude and so you can foster a culture where people anticipate learning and growing throughout their lives, are resilient in the face of setbacks and enjoy meeting the challenge of new situations and problems.
